General Procedures for Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting Guidelines

 

A.1 Did the terminal clean or move to the other place?
If YES, there might be a loose or wrong connection. Check the cable connections.
If NO, proceed to the troubleshooting.

A.2 Is there any indication that cables are bitten by rats?
If YES, call FSD to replace the cable.
If NO, proceed to the troubleshooting.

A.3 Did the FLX terminal has no power and no display?
STEP 1
If YES, the UPS might not power ON.
Check the UPS if the power lamp has GREEN light.
If there is no light, press the power button to have GREEN light.
If the UPS power button is already pressed but still no Green light, call FSD to replace the UPS (UPS No Power).
Note: This is the end of troubleshooting.

STEP 2
If the UPS has power, check the terminal main switch if power ON. If not, switch it ON.
If the terminal main switch is powered ON but the scanner does not produce an initializing sound, call FSD to replace the AC inlet (Terminal No Power).
Note: This is the end of troubleshooting.

STEP 3
If the sounds produced by the scanner is long and continuous (more than 1 second), call FSD to replace the scanner (Continuous rolling of scanner motor).
If the terminal main switch is powered ON then the scanner produced an initializing sound but still no display, check the PC power lamp (Green LED) if has light. If there is no light, press the PC power button.
If the PC power lamp (Green LED) still has no light after pressing the power button, call FSD to replace either the PC or PC power adapter (PC No Power).
Note: This is the end of troubleshooting.

STEP 4
If the PC power lamp (Green LED) has light but the PC produced continuous beeping sound, call FSD to replace the PC (PC Continuous Beeping Sound).
Note: This is the end of troubleshooting.

STEP 5
If the PC power lamp (Green LED) has light but still no display on the LCD monitor, check the LCD monitor power button if already pressed (Note: LCD monitor power button should not level on the other LCD control function keys). If not, press the power button and the LCD monitor power lamp (Green LED) should have light.

If the LCD power button is already switched ON but still the power lamp (Green LED) has no light, call FSD to replace either the LCD monitor, VGA cable or LCD power adapter (Monitor Black Out).
Note: This is the end of troubleshooting.

STEP 6
If the PC and LCD power lamp (Green LED) have light, check the display on the LCD monitor.

If there is problem display on the LCD monitor, proceed with the troubleshooting of the problem encounter.
Example: “CMOS checksum error” – call FSD to replace the PC.
Note: This is the end of troubleshooting.

STEP 7
If the terminal has power and display but the printer icon is yellow and implies that it is not connected, check if the printer power lamp (Green LED) has light. If there is no light, press the power button to have GREEN light.

If the printer power button is already pressed but still the power lamp (Green LED) has no light, call FSD to replace either the printer or printer power adapter (Won’t Print).
Note: This is the end of troubleshooting.

STEP 8
If the printer power lamp (Green LED) has light but still yellow printer icon and not connected, call FSD to replace the printer data cable (Won’t Print).
Note: This is the end of troubleshooting.

STEP 9
If the terminal has power and display but the scanner icon is yellow and implies that it is not connected, do the proper shutdown then, power ON the terminal and check if the scanner produces an initializing sound that last for less than 1 sec. when the terminal is turned ON. If no initializing sound, call FSD to replace the scanner (Reader No Power).
Note: This is the end of troubleshooting.

If NO, proceed to the troubleshooting.
