What is Preventive Maintenance (PM)?

Rationale

Preventive Maintenance is regular activity to the FLX Terminal to fully check the equipment’s performance. This is for the purpose of preventing the equipment’s part to breakdown before they have a chance to fail as well as to maintain the equipment in its standard state.

Definition of Preventive Maintenance

Much as the name implies, Preventive Maintenance, often abbreviated PM, refers to performing proactive maintenance in order to prevent system problems.
To replace worn and degraded parts before they have a chance to fail.
To adjust and tighten parts that may have loosened or moved due to vibration.
To clean out any dust or dirt that may have accumulated in areas that will cause the mechanical parts to malfunction.
Preventive Maintenance, is in contrast to diagnostic or corrective maintenance, which are performed to correct an already existing problem.
